Patrick Briggs

AVID Executive Director, Multi-State Programs (Northeast)

Patrick is a dedicated educator with over a third of a century of experience in teaching and administration. He strongly believes that any perceived achievement gaps can be addressed by closing the opportunity and expectation gaps through collaborative efforts of adults. Patrick’s passion lies in helping all students achieve at high levels, and he firmly advocates for preparing them to be college- and career-ready after completing high school.

Dr. Christie McMullen

AVID Executive Director, Multi-State Programs (Florida)

Dr. Christie McMullen’s passion for education and teaching has driven her 24-year career, which includes teaching high school and adult students throughout the United States. As an AVID Area Director and former AVID District Director, Christie works tirelessly to ensure that the AVID College and Career Readiness System is implemented effectively in multiple states.

Brett is an experienced educational leader with extensive background in instructional transformation, change management, and systems design. Passionate about serving all students as they progress on their path toward college and career readiness, Brett looks to inspire and equip school and district staffs to work together for the greater good. With a strong belief in the collective power of educators, Brett strives to bring focus to the work of school improvement, find simplicity within the dynamic nature of education, and help groups of any size build their capacity to reach ambitious goals for themselves and the students in their charge.
